Cake boss

Here's Chloe's Elmo cake. I'm quite proud of myself. Just call me the "cake boss"...okay so maybe not, but I think it looks great. Especially considering the fact that before I was married I wanted nothing to do with the kitchen except to eat in it. I rarely helped my mom cook or bake or decorate and when I did I was just in the way. I showed it to Chloe and she said "Elmo". At least it looks like him. I showed it to her before it was finished and asked her who it was and she didn't say anything.

I learned 2 things:
1) Make the frosting thicker
2) Use lots of food coloring to get a richer red color.

Feel free to leave your admiration in my comment box ;)

I am very impressed ... and quite a bit upset. See, I had no skills and no interest growing up, just like you. But unlike you, I continue to have no skills. Plenty of desire -- I WANT to be able to produce something decent. But nope. Can't. And therefore I kinda resent those who can.

I am very impressed congrats on making a pretty cake! I do have a couple of questions though. How did you get the face shape? Is that a snow ball pastry you used for the eyes and nose? If not let me know? Great job on the cake!

With cake decorating talent on both sides (your's and Trevor's) it is only natural that you excel at it! What a great cake.
I love your blog. luv - Mom

WOW! I'm very impressed. I'm not a huge sweets person, so I don't bake them very well. You have done a lot better than I would have.

Now that you have elmo down, you need to make a sheet cake and make a picture of Mr. Hankey for Trevor's B-day. Trevor loves crap like that. :)
